Yahoo enters Asian blogging market
Yahoo! Japan has entered the blogging market launching Yahoo! Japan blogs.
The move comes following the launch of the Microsoft MSN Spaces service last year and Google’s purhase of Blogger in 2003.
Yahoo! is currently not disclosing its blogging strategy for English speaking markets but has a track record of testing new offerings in Asian markets. The move is also earily similar to the MSN Spaces trial of last year, when MSN first launched its blogging service in Japan and South Korea before eventually rolling the service out to English speaking countries.
News.com reports that Yahoo Japan’s blogging site uses technology from Yahoo Korea’s blog site, launched in 2003. But other than the technology back end, the systems are independent.
