Get out your tuxedo and shine the bling bling, your Website could soon have you walking the red carpet with Hollywood’s elite.

OK, maybe not.

But there is a new award in town: The Hollywood NetAwards®, honoring excellence in the online entertainment field.

Created to spotlight emerging talent and to further forge a relationship between old and new media, the awards show will feature 22 categories:

Best Actor Site, Best Actress Site, Best Broadband Site, Best Celebrity Site, Best Entertainer Site, Best Entertainment Site, Best Entertainment Blog Site, Best Entertainment Magazine Site, Best Entertainment News Site, Best Entertainment Social Network Site, Best Fashion Site, Best Games Site, Best Movie Site, Best Motion Picture Studio Site, Best Musician Site, Best Music Site, Best Newspaper Entertainment Site, Best Net Actor, Best Net Actress, Best Net Director, Best TV Site and Best Web Series.

Entries are accepted monthly and the deadline is August 1, 2008. The five nominees, per each category, will be announced on October 10, and the winners will be honored at a stand-alone event during the the 12th Annual Hollywood Film Festival® and Hollywood Awards®, which take place from October 22 to October 27, 2008, in Hollywood.

Winners/Nominees will be chosen based on content, interactivity, structure and navigation, visual design functionality and overall experience.

One thing’s certain: the NetAwards Website certainly won’t win. It’s difficult to navigate, right down to a PDF form to enter.

Nominees and winners will be selected by a Blue Ribbon Committee of both established professionals and leading Net experts.
