An Interview with Spoke Media’s Meme on the launch of

We took a few minutes tonight to interview Meme of Spoke Media, purveyor of fine smut like, Boyspoke, and their latest blog – You can read their inaugural Dirtyspoke post here. Here’s the dish from Meme:

Tell us what’s been happing with Spoke Media – you’ve been off the radar a bit lately?

We took ourselves off the radar because we were watching the implosion of other networks and felt we needed to focus on cultivating quality writers and promoting a more organic growth.

You’ve launched a new blog – – what’s the story there?

We launched because we saw how popular our Playboy Radio show was becoming and we wanted to create a forum to focus directly on that since it was getting lost on the sidebar. It is also a great way to bring sex-blogging and traditonal media together.

There was quite the hubbub around sex blogs and sex blog networks earlier this year. What do you see out there right now in terms of sex blogs? What’s next for that genre?

I’ve noticed that there are many well written high quality sex blogs that have been able to rise to the top like cream, so to speak, and like any other medium the growth can only be exponential. The important thing is to find audiences for these writers beyond the web and hopefully create a new way to find erotic lit and unheard voices.

You’ve been doing the Playboy Radio bit for some time now – what’s that experience like? What feedback are you getting?

Playboy Radio is a blast. We’ve been having so much fun doing it. Though waking up at 7:30 in the morning to talk dirty requires some effort to channel my inner sexpot . We’ve had so much positive feedback from both our readers and the sex bloggers we review, naturally they are excited once they hear the audio of the radio spot. We were thrilled when Playboy magazine started a section about Blog of the Month and featured a site we reviewed. We are still waiting for the invite to the mansion but we expect that to come soon (Hef, call me).

What’s the future hold for Spoke Media?

We hope to continue to grow slow and naturally. We are women after all and we need to take our time. That being said, we have big plans, super-secret ultra-hot crazy-naughty plans. Ouch, Jenna just spanked me for saying that.
