Tips for Bloggers to Stay Productive

Being a blogger is not as easy as many people tend to think. Whether you are doing it full-time or on a part-time basis, blogging requires commitment and dedication to be productive.

Different people get into blogging for various reasons. Whatever the reasons, the aim is to reach as many people as possible. It is impossible to achieve that objective if you are not constantly productive.

You ought to find ways to remain productive every day in order to reach your goals. Strategize and find ways to motivate yourself. Below are tips to help you stay productive as a blogger.

  1. Time management

There’s nothing as important as time-management as a blogger. It is even more essential when you are a full-time blogger. As a blogger, you have a lot of things to do each day. Failing to allocate time for each activity is a recipe for procrastination.

Studies have shown that our energy diminishes as the day goes by. As a result, you should prioritize the most important tasks. Start by doing the most challenging work early in the morning. You can do this by writing down those tasks a day before.

  1. Have a workstation

Another tip to keep you productive is by having a workstation. Learn to separate your workspace from your personal space.

Blogging from your bed, living room or dining table will make it difficult for you to concentrate as a blogger.

You need to designate a working area – free from noise and any form of interruption. Your mind is very powerful and receives instructions from your subconscious.

For example, if you decide to work from the couch where you are used to binge-watching, it will be difficult for your mind to concentrate on what you are doing.

  1. Note Taking

A blogger is someone who learns every day. Where will you get new ideas if you are not reading and notetaking? The best way to capture your thoughts is to use an app like Evernote to take notes throughout the day for ideas on what to write.

Being productive as a blogger means creating content that is both interesting and engaging. It is difficult to come up with new ideas if you are not reading a lot and taking notes. Do not assume that you will remember what you are reading or what you saw.

  1. Have a to-do list

A to-do list is a key component when it comes to increasing productivity. You don’t want a situation where you are in the middle of writing an article and suddenly remember an urgent task that you were supposed to do.

Writing down all tasks that you are planning to do on a particular day not only eliminates the fear of forgetting but also helps you to avoid procrastination. Have your to-do list prepared at least a day before.

  1. Turn off distractions

When you start working, ensure that there’s nothing around to distract you – whether it is a physical or online distraction.

Here are a few things that can help:

  • Close any apps on your browser that you are not using
  • Shut down all apps on your pc that are not necessary for your work
  • In case you are writing, enable a distraction free-mode.
