RSS Ping sites
The SEO Black Hat blog has a good list of sites to ping from your blog. At the moment I’m only using Pingomatic but I’d been interested in hearing from others if they’d recommend some of these sites or others not mentioned.
The list

If you’re pinging Ping-O-Matic you already have all of those covered except for coreblog. (Or at least the ones that can handle the traffic.)
Consider checking out Pingoat. Its a new service, but far more comprehensive than pingomatic.

Oh, also, we’ve had to turn off the external BlogShares rpc access for the time being, its been seeing some abuse lately from spammers.

Another pinging service that is worth taking a glance at.
See this collection of multiple blog pinger services.

This is silly, I decided to post a blog in response:
http://pingomatic.com/blog/2005/09/06/more-comprehensive/
Didn’t see this one on the list. It’s been recently updated to include several specialized and internationals sites.
I use it over Ping-o-matic because there’s more and it’s been more reliable, especially of late.

Consider checking out PingMyBlog:

This link is not working http://api.my.yahoo.com/rss/ping Otherwise great resource! Thanks :)

wow… here you promote blog/ping and provide additional places for pings, yet in another page, you slam this practice. wild.
That is pretty sad :D
Simply Wonderful
No insulting words today because I cant find any to describe your stupidity. Pinging is a legitimate form of letting search engines know you’ve updated your blog, where as the “Blog and Ping” programs promote content theft. Big, big difference.
Come on guys, this is a blog comment section and not a forum ;)
You can send pings to Blog Buzz Machine, the ping URL is http://rpc.blogbuzzmachine.com/RPC2
I don’t get anything from that url.
You can also check out http://www.pingtheempire.com
for a growing list of pingable directories!
When pingoat.com refuses or indicates that you have fallen afoul of his rules, you may find that despite sending several emails and reading his forum, that is can be nearly impossible to get back into his good graces. I believe the student running pingoat may get busy with exams or something and thus not always be available to respond to exceptions in his own service.
