TypePad spam defences breached.

Threadwatch reports that trackback spammers have found a way of getting past the protection provided to users of Six Apart’s paid blogging servce TypePad, with well known blogger Seth Godin being targeted.
Should we be worried about you Duncan?

Our anti-spam team is working on this. I believe all of the affected blogs have already been cleaned up by our spam scripts, not as fast as we’d like, but we’ve improved them for the future.
And really now, *two* posts about this in one day, but no posts about the many, many new features we’ve launched on TypePad in the past few weeks? I think the Blog Herald would be of more value to its readers if you were more comprehensive in the types of information you offer about Six Apart products.
Aahahaha :P
Hey Anil
maybe if you communicated at the SixApart blog more about what you guys were doing I might be able to cover more!
TypePad News= sweet f*ck all
SixApart News= sweet f*ck all again except an update at the end of the month saying that you’d been doing stuff.
SixApart Press releases= last update 11 July, again sweet f*ck all
Mena’s corner= complete and utter waste of time.
MT News= slightly better, but you’d never know about MT3.2 details if you didn’t read it here and I don’t read it, I read the SA blog.
Understand that if any other corporation had big news they’d share it on their primary news source. You guys don’t. I read about it third party and posted with the link to the third party. Please don’t blame me if your corporate communications still completely and utterly sucks.
Are you serious? TypePad’s had half a dozen posts in just the past two
weeks about features, take a look:
1. http://www.sixapart.com/typepad/news/2005/09/how_your_blog_c.html
2. http://www.sixapart.com/typepad/news/2005/08/just_your_style.html
3. http://www.sixapart.com/typepad/news/2005/08/post.html
4. http://www.sixapart.com/typepad/news/2005/08/xml_feeds_for_t.html

6. http://www.sixapart.com/typepad/news/2005/08/podcasting_supp.html
And overall, we’re posting *tons* of good information. Mena did a good
update about our posting here:
http://www.sixapart.com/about/corner/2005/09/posting_frequen.html
We’ve put dozens of updates in one post with our roundups. Any one of these items would be newsworthy:

What about the hundreds of posts in the Professional Network blog?

Yeah, we don’t update our press releases often. That’s because we’re a *blogging* company. It’s not just what we sell, it’s what we do.
Anil
The TypePad stuff: these are user tips aimed at helping your readers
Mena’s post: its general advice
The SixApart blog: I think you should start taking mena’s advice on posting: a couple of monthly summaries, where’s the specific post on the MT release????????? 6 posts from the June 16 says it all.
You know what, in a world full of information, if you want to get your message out you’ve either got to carpet bomb it or you’ve got to serve it up in a central location where you know people will find it. You’ve done neither, and unfortunately just displayed the typical SA response to criticisim: whats the firms mantra???”We can do no wrong and are never wrong, nor can we admit to making mistakes”.
