100 blogs in 100 days, Day 1: Solution Watch

The first blog off the rank for 100 blogs in 100 days is from Brian Benzinger.
Blog: Solution Watch
About: “Four months ago, I had an idea for a blog that would inform my visitors about solutions that can be beneficial and provide detailed information about the solutions. The idea came about because I come across many great applications and find barely a soul knowing of them. The issue that I was seeing was I would see the same idea produced by a bigger name a while later who would then receive the attention. My goal of Solution Watch is to help get the word out of solutions that deserve more attention. I am only four months into the blogging game and I couldn’t be happier with what has been accomplished so far.”

So if you’re looking for a new site today check out Solution Watch, and be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments here for Brian. The only thing I ask during this entire process for all the sites featured is that you try to keep it constructive, if you don’t like the site, suggest ways of improving it. Enjoy.

  • Out of the gate with a great one! Brian Benziner’s Solution Watch is easy on the eyes, enthusiastically well-written, and packed to the archives with solutions worth exploring.
Thanks for this one. I’ll be here for 99 more.

  • Wow, thank you, Duncan, for the mention. I really appreciate your doing this and I hope that your viewers will enjoy my blog. I also want to say thanks to Michael and ME Strauss for the kind comments as well :) I am glad you both like my blog and hope you find something worth checking out!

  • Great blog Brian. I just subscribet to your RSS feed. I think my RSS reader will have to do a lot of more work in next 100 days :-)

  • One down, ninety-nine to go.

This was a great one to start with, as it provides great info to the reader and is easy on the eyes. I will go back and read many of his past posts….as I am not so techy…so many of the solutions he talks about are a good way for me to learn what is out there.

    Can’t wait til tomorrow.

  • Thank you everyone for your interest and mentioning of Solution Watch. In the past few hours, I have recieved a number of new readers and even made my way onto populicio.us and Del.icio.us Popular pages for my Social Bookmarking list. I would like to thank everyone for their support and hope you enjoy Solution Watch.

Also, I figured this would be a good place to ask a question to the visitors:

Do you prefer full text RSS Feeds over summarized? I have tried Full previously but found less visits, yet I assume others prefer full text. I would like to know what my visitors prefer, thank you for answering.

  • Hi Brian, Real cool blog. I feel like going back to the University library with all these information you dug out.. Great job there.

My personal feel is the summary RSS probably works better. It’s always nicer to read the blog entry on the blog site.. So the summary gives me enough info as whether I want to read the full text or not..

  • Thanks Yuna! Have fun at the Library. Thanks for the suggestion as well.. I am going to try out Full text for a few days to see how things go. If the visitors are more pleased with that, then it will stay. But, I agree with what you said about giving a summary because I would rather a reader to view my website rather than only a feed reader.

    Thanks!
