Nearing a busy intersection, I slowed down, but the light was green so I kept going.
WHAM
Another driver slams into us. He ran the red light and hit us hard on the driver’s side.
Glass is flying everywhere, my car is no longer under my control. My son yells. We stop moving, all I see is pieces of glass. And blood.
The blood is coming from my son. It’s pouring down his neck.

I went and read his story earlier today. Just came back to say I am so glad he and child are ok. I couldn’t imagine this happening to anyone. And I can’t believe the driver who hit them drove away. I hope the police find him/her.
I totally sympathize with the experience.
About a week before my wife was about to deliver we were both involved in a car accident — as pedestrians (!)
Luckily it was a low-impact collision and all are well, but one to log under “scary as shit, not wanting to wish on anyone”.
Tony – I’m glad you and your wife are ok.
I find it difficult as a pedestrian in certain areas of Vancouver… namely intersections. There are however pedestrian friendly neighborhoods here. I just hope we walkers outpace the automobile population or something like that :)
