What’s a blog related domain name worth?
Just read this email and wanted to share it and my response, but it does raise an interesting question, what is a blogging related domain worth?

yes, but only if you knock 3 zeros off each one.
Seriously though, do you really think these are worth that much. If they are, my exisiting domain inventory must be worth millions :-)
regards
Duncan.
For such prices, you’d expect the domain names to at least go with established websites, wide (and good) reputation, and generating high revenue from AdSense or whatever else… Or was this a joke?
Some people really don’t doubt of anything.
I’m not sure if it was a joke, he’s yet to respond, but it certainly sounded serious. The irony is that the company is called 100dollar domains not 25,000 dollar domains :-)
Its okay to buy domains for a price, but these prices are way off the scale and I agree with you. Nevertheless, a blog-related domain is surely worth its money, and for a domain my maximum deal (if I was REALLY interested) would be not more than $100… and that should include the rights for using all content and software which have been on the domain to maintain it – and how about the advertising programs? I’d require these too… so if someone’s going to offer a domain which has already adsense, I’d require that too, well – for money, I’d require nearly everything from that deal! :)
But again, that one is way off the scale.
I just looked at their site and … they sold all their domains. There is nothing to buy. ;-)
What he’s doing is hoping he finds a sucker who doesn’t mind dishing out the dough. The names really aren’t that bad, but are only worth a few hundred bucks a piece.
I love people who are capitolists!
speaking of which if you are interested in buying Weblug.com I’ll let it go for cheap…
Bidding starts at 1,000.
I’m half serious… but if you were willing to dish out 1,000 I’d definetly take it…lol
kind of reminds me of Nigerian spam. I guess he’s hoping that one of the many people he emailed that out to will be sucked into it.
Haha.. you guys think this dude is crazy? Wait till you see what I found on eBay:

Are some people crazy or what!
Hey, I have a really cool blog related domain name for sale too: Blogicide.com
First to come up with the asking price gets it ;-)
…and what about this crazy one, called BlogMama.com ? What’s this one worth, eh?
Hmm, I have some blog-related domain names on hand as well, which I hope to sell off…..not so greedy in a 5-figure sum & all that, but more keen on selling them for say $1-2K each, but too sure on whether they are worth that much, or even more ?…..any comments on these 2 domain names below ?

A good blog, full of interesting, quality content can reach the top Google and Yahoo positions very quickly. If your page has links to your website within it, then you can guarantee that this will boost your website’s search engine ranking as well.
You may find many blog related domain names on http://www.dotcenter.com . There is a huge database of either expired or listed for sale domains. Updated daily. All sensible names seem to be already registered…
Wow! At these prices, my domain name(s) may well be worth more that if I fully developed and monetized the sites.
I don’t think they are worth that price at all. Blogs are a fad
A fad? Right… just like email is.
