As a blogger, when you sit down to write a post, you have two primary objectives:
- Present the dilemma you’re going to solve and give a top-down view of the big picture.
- Flesh out the details and give specifics in form of answers to the dilemma and the big picture.
In most blog posts, these are the two main steps that need to be focused on. By way of your article’s title and introductory paragraph you need to set forth a foundation, by presenting a problem or a question and then laying it out so that your readers understand exactly the issue your post is going to address. read more

Companies put the majority of their marketing efforts into creating content that they can distribute via their websites, brochures, online newsletters and other platforms they control. However, what they fail to consider is how well they are reaching out and targeting their core demographic in media they don’t control. The benefit to running a Windows machine is the wide array of software developed for these systems. Even going back to Windows 2000/XP there have been developers releasing excellent freeware for anyone in the world. Data backups can be handled manually or through parity of internal drives. OS X users do not always have this same luxury.
But it is important when considering how to backup data from your computer, to think about how you would want access to it. Many users prefer local hard drives either internal in the system, or external through USB/Firewire. I have been using physical drives across multiple Operating Systems and it works great if you have the storage space.
Bloggers are the new poets, or so Paul Krugman claims in “Poetry and Blogging,” in which he compares bloggers’ propensity to use their blogs to build their reputation in order to acquire paid work like poets did with their poetry back in the Tudor court. I think Krugman is right, but not for the reason he proposes. He’s right in that poetry has always existed outside of capitalist structures that equate money with value, but he fails to acknowledge that it still lives there and that its population is starving. Poets rarely find a way to turn their poetic reputation into employment. Adjunct gigs are hardly what they used to be. More and more, I meet writers with advanced degrees in poetry pursuing jobs in SEO, and our poet skills serve us well. Perhaps poets are becoming the new bloggers, and the SEO industry could learn a few things from the practice of poetry. read more
